Fire in a refugee camp in Lebanon victimize Syrian children

ORIENT NET, 08 December 2017, Seven children were killed, and others were injured, according to initial reports, from fire that started in a refugee camp for Syrians in Ghazzah town in West Beqaa Lebanon. The bodies, including 4 charred, were moved to the Hamed Farhat Hospital, with reports of suffocation cases.

Lebanese media said on Thursday that a big fire started in the Al-Hamasinah refugee camp, with unclarified reasons, referring that the fire lasted for hours until the civil defense teams managed to put it out.

Several fires have happened in refugee camps in Lebanon, and caused many deaths among Syrian refugees in diaspora camps in Bqaa and Arsal, adding to their suffering from restrictions imposed by Lebanese Army and security forces.

Similarly, a fire killed three sisters and burned ten tents in a Syrian refugee camp in Akkar, caused by explosion of a gas cylinder, according to the Lebanese civil defense, that put out the fire later with support of refugees.

Fires in refugee camps in Lebanon have killed many Syrians, especially in winter, as they use woodfire for heating.
