UN Under-Secretary-General Jeffrey Feltman said considering the chain defeats suffered by Maliki, the time has come for Iraqis and the Americans to consider alternatives, Associated Press reported.
In response to this question that Maliki’s departure will create a power vacuum in Iraq, Feltman said “this might happen, however there must be accountability where there is a semi-democratic system,” AP added.
