
In Middle East news French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius described the massacre of civilians in the Gaza Strip as unjustifiable and said the international community must enforce a ceasefire. He said Israel’s right to maintain its security does not justify killing children and civilians. Fabius went on to ask how many more people have to be killed for the massacre to come to a halt in Gaza?
72-hour ceasefire violated by Israel
Israeli tanks and soldiers continued their activities near the Israel-Gaza border despite a 72-hour ceasefire announced by Israel on Monday. Palestinians accused Israel of violating the ceasefire merely minutes after began it.
The Gaza war, in its fourth week, has killed more than 1,800 Palestinians and more than 60 Israelis.
