Ex-Ambassador to Saudi Arabia: US Needs Strong Ally in Mideast

According to the U.S ambassador to Saudi Arabia who served under President George W. Bush, the U.S. needs to have a strong ally in the Middle East and a relationship between Saudi Arabia and the U.S. could “stand some marriage counseling.”

“Iran’s certainly not going to be it for the next several generations at least . . . We’ve got to stick with the Saudis and find a way to make that relationship work,” Robert Jordan told “Newsmax Now” hosts John Bachman and Miranda Kahn on Thursday on Newsmax TV.
He said that moving ahead he expects to see a new renaissance from Saudi Arabia. The newly crowned prince Muhammed bin Nayef is not only a strong counterterrorist figure who has worked closely with the U.S., but another prince, Al-Waleed bin Talal, is dedicating his entire fortune to charity in the future and is a proponent of liberalizing the treatment of women.
