European Union Interior Ministers finally approved with a majority vote a bill to house the thousands migrants flooding into Europe. Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Romania and Hungary voted against the plan, and Finland abstained on this bill.
EU member states will voluntarily take in as many refugees as they can into their soil, according to this bill.
The EU was accused of acting too slow in reaching this decision, a Luxembourg cabinet minister said. The rotating chair of the EU has approved this plan to accept 120,000 refugees across the Green Continent. Otherwise, Europe would be engulfed into divides more than ever before and its credibility left seriously undermined, the minister added.
The coming winter season provides major challenges for these innocent migrants and their future host countries. The European Council was seeking an all-out majority in this vote, yet the bill faced four negative votes.
