EU FMs to Consider Additional Sanctions against Iran

EU FMs to Consider Additional Sanctions against Iran

The Foreign Ministers of the EU countries in a statement after their meeting in Luxemburg on Monday agreed to consider further sanctions than the U.N. Security Council sanctions against Iran.

In its statement the European Union called Iran to fully cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), including implementing the Additional Protocol of the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, and underlined the necessity of providing all the information requested by the IAEA from Iran.

The European Union also announced if Iran does not suspend its enrichment activities the EU will consider what additional measures it might take in accordance with the article 41 of seventh chapter of the UN charter.
