Rome, The Telegraph, 12 May 2017 – An explosion from a bomb planted by suspected anarchists ripped through a street on the Aventine hill in Rome Friday, damaging a car but causing no casualties, police said.
The blast happened between two cars in the leafy via Marmorata near a post office. Firemen, police and anti-terrorist explosives experts raced to the scene and the area was cordoned off. Investigators said the explosion could have been caused by a paper bomb or by a parcel bomb – no possibility immediately was being excluded.
No group immediately claimed responsibility but police sources said Italian anarchist groups were the main suspects.
