The Egyptian Foreign Ministry issued a statement expressing its disappointment of the failed efforts to continue ceasefire in Gaza. This statement reads in part Egypt placed sincere efforts to close the positions of the different positions’ to each other in direct negotiations, and agreements were reached on all but a few issues. However, instead of extending the ceasefire and negotiations to reach a solution on those few remaining matters, the ceasefire ended.
