Senior Iraqiya Coalition member Zafer al-Ani said early general elections would resolve the current political crisis that has engulfed the country.
“Early elections will bring about new political coalitions and exit Iraq of its current devastating political crisis,” al-Ani said.
“Early elections in these conditions will accomplish true participation which must take the role of leadership following the US forces departure,” he added.
“The Iraqiya Coalition believes Maliki continuing as premier will lead to a political downfall and act as blow to the foundations of democracy in Iraq,” al-Ani continued.
