Al-Jazira T.V. Aug. 27 — The leader of National Dialogue Front of Iraq, Dr. Salih Mutlaq in an interview called Iyad Allawi the best selection to rescue Iraq out of present crises and said: “Iraqis believe the period of Allawi’s premiership was the best period compared to any government.”

He was asked if the present government fails due to its isolation internally and externally, what would the alternative government be? Are there any particular names proposed? For instance the name of Dr. Allawi has been suggested. Is he considerable?

Dr. Mutlaq replied: the period of Allawi’s government was the best period for Iraqis. We need a secular and liberal authority, and the rule of religious parties and their domination over the country must end. Because, it is impossible to govern the country while religious parties in power. Historically the religious parties have never been in power in Iraq. It was the first experience and it proved to be a failure for these parties in Iraq. For the sack of Islam, religion, country and people they must declare the frailer of this kind of government and leave the way open for others.
He added : Today, Dr. Iyad Allawi is the alternative and in my point of view he is accepted by the Iraqi people.
