INTV, 16 Oct 2013 – Following the two days of talks between Iran and P5+1, EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton along with her spokesman Michael Mann held a press conference. This is while Iran had announced noon Wednesday through its media outlets that at the end of the talks Ashton and Iran’s top diplomat Mohammad Javad Zarif will hold a joint press conference.
However, at the end of the talks, Ashton held a separate press conference along with her spokesman, and the only details she provided was that the two parties agreed to meet again in Geneva on November 7th. Ashton even refused to read the final statement of these talks and said this text will be placed on her website. She said there has been an agreement not to talk about specifics.
In this press conference no clear answer were given to the questions raised by the reports regarding the suspension of uranium enrichment and or the West’s commitments to ease the sanctions.
