Current Syrian regime in power on Iran support: defected premier

Al-Jazeera TV, 23 Oct 2012 – Defected Syrian premier Riyadh Hijab said the Syrian regime remains in power due to military support provided by Iran. In an interview with Al Jazeera’s “In Depth” program Hijab said Iran’s cargo plans carrying weapons to support the Syrian regime army have filled Syrian airports.
Defected Syrian premier Riyadh Hijab: “Iran is providing complete support for Bashar Assad. If it weren’t for Iran’s enormous and daily support to Bashar Assad and providing weapons and all technical needs and etc., and even dispatching experts in various military and security fields, truly Bashar Assad wouldn’t have been able to remain in power to this day. The support is on a daily basis. Iran’s cargo planes are transferring weapons on a daily basis and this has now been proven.”
