The US Army arrasted 3 terrorist agents affiliated to Qods Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) in separate operaions in Karbala and Qazaniya.
According to Agence France Press: “US troops in a pre-dawn swoop on Wednesday in the Shiite shrine city of Karbala captured a wanted militant whom the military suspects of being involved in ferrying extremists to Iran for training.”
The “highly-sought individual is suspected of being an Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps-Qods (IRGC-QF) affiliate,” the military said in a statement.
It said the detained man was suspected of coordinating with “high-level IRGC-QF officers for the transportation of multiple Iraqis to Iran for terrorist training at IRGC-QF train camps.”
“He is also a known logistics facilitator providing lethal aid to terrorists operating in central Baghdad,” the statement charged.
The military said it believed he was closely linked to individuals at the highest level of the Iranian group.
During the raid, troops confiscated computer equipment, communication devices and other documents which may lead “to information on other IRGC-QF illicit activities intended to disrupt security operations in Iraq,” it said.
Also on Tuesday the Multi National Forces in Iraq arrested to arm smugglers affiliated with Qods Force near the village of Qazzaniya, close to Iranian border.
