During an interview about the outcomes of putting the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) in the terrorist list, Patrick Clawson, deputy of Washington Institute for Near East Policy, said: ” The decision of the United States government is a threat to IRGC and they will face serious consequences; because this decision will reduce this organization’s income and will harm personal incomes of the IRGC’s leaders.”
He added: “The IRGC is a criminal group which makes enormous income for its leaders. These incomes are obtained through extensive smuggling activities and also the activities of companies like Khatamolanbia.”
Patrick Clawson also said: “The Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps supports the terrorist measures of Hamas, Hezbullah, Al-Qaeda and Iraqi militias and gives arms to many of the worst world’ terrorist groups.”
