Arab T.V. channels Al-Arabia and ash-Sharqia reported from the Iraqi parliament a number of Iraqi MPs from nationalist, religious and political movements and parties have called for dissolution of present parliament and early elections for change of present political structure of Iraq.
The leader of Iraqi National Dialogue Front Dr. Saleh Mutlaq approving the call for abolition of Iraqi parliament emphasized on the necessity of early elections. He said: if the parliament is dissolved, the Iraqis will not regret that. The problem is in both the government and the parliament. The people who were elected through rigging and deceit can not run the country; therefore we seek early elections, no matter whether this parliament is dissolved or not. The elections must be clear of rigging, and the international community and Iraqi judiciary should have supervision on it.
Regarding a question asked from one of Iraqi Shiites leaders Ayatollah Mohammad Yaghobi, a leader of Fadhila Party Dr. Nadim al-Jaberi said we need to modify elections system and return to the individual election system.
A leader of Sadr Movement in Iraqi parliament Baha al-Aaraji on Tuesday called for dissolution of Iraqi parliament and asked Iraqi President for taking measures for early elections.
Al-Arabia said the Sadr Movement’s plan is actually the same as the Iraqi National Dialogue and Iraqi Accord Front plans and now they are in one line.
A member of parliament Hussein Faluji said: “As to Mr. Baha’s call, most of MPs I spoke to were in favor of the idea. It seems the time is putting pressure to end this frustrating crises, and one of the best answers would be referendum and elections. Therefore we support early elections.”
