
There has been a series of bomb explosions in Brussels this morning. Two blast happened at 8am at the departure area at the Belgians capital Zaventem Airport. That was followed an hour later by the third blast at a Metro Station in the City Center. At least 20 people are dead and more than 100 others injured, 17 of them gravely and another 20 seriously. The number of casualties from airport explosion has been at least 11 killed and more than 35 injured.
The country’s prime minister has condemned what he called “blind and cowardly attack.”
Video footage showed smoke rising from the top of the terminal building. Blast was close to the American Airline checking desk.

Chaotic scene followed at the airport which has now been evacuated and closed until further notice. All flights from Brussels Airport have been canceled and planes heading there are being diverted. Rail travel to the airport has been suspended.
Belgium has raised its security level to maximum level 4 across the country.
There has also been an explosion at a metro station in Brussels close to the main European Union’s buildings in the Belgians capital. TV images show black smoke billowing from the entrance to the station. The metro station network is now closing and the EU has ordered its staff who have arrived at work to remain indoors. There is wider cautions for all people in Brussels.

Transport authorities in Brussels have shut down all transportations in the city. Prime Minister David Cameron said he would chair a meeting on the events in Brussels later today.
The explosion in Brussels come 4 days after the capture of Saleh Abdeslam who investigators say is one of the men behind the Paris attacks last November. After his arrest the Belgian Foreign minister has warned the discovery of cache of weapons suggested that Abdeslam accomplices could be ready to carry out further attacks. French police say the attacks in Paris which killed 130 people were largely planned in Brussels by conspirators linked to the ISIS.
