Basra residents protest against Maliki on lack of electricity

The residents of Basra, Iraq’s second largest city, staged a demonstration protesting against the lack of competence in Maliki’s government due to lack of electricity, al-Baghdadiya TV reported.
The demonstrators announced with temperatures rising if the electricity problem is not resolved they will stage a sit-in outside of the Provincial Council building. The demonstrations added government officials have left the people of Basra without any assistance during the extreme summer heat.
