Following his meeting with Iraqi Kurdistan President Masoud Barzani, Parliament member Hassan Alavi said under no circumstances the Iraqi Kurdistan leader will transfer Iraqi Vice President Tareq al-Hashemi to Baghdad.
“Barzani has emphasized under no circumstances will he handover Iraqi Vice President Tareq al-Hashemi to the central government,” Alavi said. “Barzani has said if the Kurds were to turn in someone who has sought refuge with them to the central government, they would have turned in Maliki, Allawi and others who had sought refuge in Kurdistan in the past.”
