Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government President Massud Barzani issued a statement warning of Nouri Maliki’s recent threats, al-Sharqiya TV reported.
“Maliki’s current efforts could actually destroy what has been accomplished so far,” Barzani said in response to Maliki’s remarks in which he requested the use of an iron fist by military forces.
“Maliki’s remarks before police officers leave no room for patience because these are efforts that violate the most basic principles of democracy and partnership. The result of these efforts for cooperation and the future of democracy in the country is dangerous,” he added.
