Baghdad TV cited eyewitness saying SWAT forces arrested and executed six civilians in their homes southern Baghdad’s Atifiye district.
The Atifiye tribes have said security forces cooperated with Maliki’s militant forces in murdering members of the Sunni community.
“At 10 pm SWAT forces with black clothing arrested and took away young and old men from this area,” an eyewitness said.
“No one other than government forces has 8.5mm pistols,” another eyewitness said.
“Following the arrests we took a look around and saw the bodies all laying alongside a water stream while the eyes of the victims were blindfolded. Their hands were tied behind their backs and bullets were placed in their heads execution style, and their bodies had many bullet wounds,” a woman said.
