In an interview with Al-Jazeera TV, Abu Azzam al-Tamimi, supervisor of Awakening Councils in Iraq, warned against US withdrawal before Iran ends its occupation in Iraq and said: I believe withdrawal of US forces from Iraq is totally an Iranian desire; the US withdrawal at present conditions is the best gift to Iran. It is a mistake to consider occupier as only Americans because should the US leaves Iraq, Iran won’t leave Iraq and will stay there. Iran is Iraq’s neighbor and has some interests in Iraq and in the region; it will pursue its own interests
Al-watan daily, published in Saudi Arabia, also wrote: Abu Azzam al-Tamimi, supervisor of Awakening Councils in Iraq, accused Iran of deteriorating security and political situation in Iran. He called the Iranian regime’s occupation more dangerous than US occupation; the Iraqi parties and forces like Fadhilat, Iraqi National Accord Front, Iraq National List and the Shiite clergy, Qassem al-Taii warned of the ruling Party’s dictatorship
