Al-Hayat daily, published in London, reported: Simultaneous with Bashar Assad’s trip to Tehran, Brigadier General Muhammad Suleiman, his security advisor, who was the liaison of Syria and Lebanon’s Hizbullah, was assassinated in the harbor city of Tarsous .

According to informed sources, General Suleiman was among the Syrian officials whom the International investigation committee of Rafiq Hariri’s assassination had asked for interrogation.

Al-Hayat wrote: The Suleiman assassination news was not published on the order of Syrian government officials.
