Based on a report from the Levant News Network, on Friday, April 11th, the Assad regime launched a chemical attack against the city of Herste near Damascus, killing at least 5 people and wounding dozens of others.

The Hama News Center said in a similar chemical attack against the city of Kafar Zite near the northern section of Hama a child was killed and nearly 100 others were injured.

The US government is following up on reports of chemical weapons usage by the Assad regime, said White House Press Secretary Jay Carney.
