Orient Net. Feb. 21, 2018 – Eastern Ghouta two-day genocide committed by Assad regime militias, backed up by Russian air force, took the lives of at least 220 civilians, injured hundreds, and destroyed all means of life in the area.
It is the worst violence in the Eastern Ghouta area near Damascus since 2013, according to activists. More than 50 children are among the dead, they say.
The UN has warned that the situation is “spiraling out of control”.
However, Assad militias continued their barbarous assault against Eastern Ghouta using all types of weapons, including the internationally banned cluster missiles and deadly barrel bombs.
According to our correspondents, regime aircraft conducted 137 airstrikes on the second day of assault Eastern Ghouta, and 44 barrel-bombs were dropped on different towns and cities.
Assad artillery missiles and surface-to-surface missiles also targeted several towns and cities in Eastern Ghouta, our correspondent added.
The assault killed more than 103 civilians on Monday (Feb 19) and at least 119 on the next day, including dozens of women and children.

Hundreds of people have been injured, flooding hospitals and clinics with casualties they are ill-equipped to treat after four years under siege. Medical facilities have been hit, too, with 12 hospitals and clinics struck by bombs and knocked out of action in the past two days, according to the Union of Medical Care and Relief Organizations (UOSSM).
Assad regime bombardment is a prelude to a major Russian-backed offensive to crush the opposition, according to CNN.
The latest assault is part of what appears to be a fresh regime push to recapture the Eastern Ghouta area, which has been under the control of oppostion since 2012 and besieged by Assad militias since 2013. Spanning 142 square miles, it is populated by more than 350,000 people.
