AFP, Cairo, 24 Nov 2011 – Arab foreign ministers decided during crisis talks in Cairo on Thursday to ask the United Nations to support them in their efforts to resolve the crisis in Syria, a League statement said.
The top diplomats agreed in their final communique to ‘ask the United Nations Secretary General to support the efforts of the Arab League to resolve the critical situation in Syria,’ where a security force crackdown on protest has left at least 3,500 people dead since mid-March.
