The series of popular demonstrations in Baghdad and numerous other cities continue across Iraq against Nouri Maliki, condemning the arresting of the guards of Finance Minister Rafe al-Issawi.
In Baghdad’s Azamie district, hundreds of people participated in demonstrations after their Friday prayers.
Ahmad Hossein Taha, imam of the Na’man mosque, described the arrest of al-Issawi’s bodyguards as an anti-popular measure carried out by Nouri Maliki, adding Maliki’s policies are sectarian and aimed at eliminating and eradicating other political forces.
