On Jan. 23, Al-Hurra TV reported that former Iraqi premier Ayad Allawi announced he is starting new efforts to form a front to achieve national reconciliation in Iraq.

He also told Radio Sawa: “the Maliki’s plan to achieve national reconciliation has failed. To achieve a national reconciliation, we are seeking to form a broad front.

Allawi added he has made consultation with a number of leaders of political groups such as Fadhila Party and Sadr Movement to form new front.
