Ayad Allawi, leader and al-Wataniya Coalition said in a press conference on Thursday, May 15th, “I consider myself the winner of the Baghdad elections and if Maliki gains the first position he will have reached it through cheating and fraud”.
Allawi said his coalition opposes the majority government that is sought from Maliki and the Iranian regime.
“The most important issue in the future coalitions is to build Iraq without any sectarianism and we must have a national vision to the future, and for building a true national participation government we open our arms to anyone that is against sectarianism,” he said.
“The former government was stolen from us, and we don’t want to establish a majority political government that will be a repeat of that scenario. In fact, we are seeking an active national participation government that will maintain Iraq’s sovereignty, along with the Iraqi people’s rights and freedoms,” Allawi continued.
