Interviewing with Al-Arabia T.V., former Iraqi premier Ayad Allawi condemned Iranian regime’s interferences in Iraq and Ahmadinejad’s comment for filling the U.S. Forces place in Iraq. He expressed his regret on Iraqi government silence and said: it is regrettable that Iraqi government does not formally protest to such conduct of Iran. Iraqi government should have answered diplomatically and through media to such comments.”
Answering the question of what is the reason for their silence, Allawi said: “we are surprised. We have raised the case in the Parliament. We expect the Arab and Islamic countries to take clear position about Iranian interferences in Iraqi affaires.
About Maliki’s support of armed militias Allawi said: “the government is clearly responsible for what has had happened in Karbala. More than 300 people were killed and wounded during pilgrimage. The government was aware of lack of security there, but did not decide anything to stop pilgrims to go there and the tragedy happened. The MNFI evaluation about Karbala police is that only 5 percent of them are loyal to government and the rest are loyal to other parties and militia groups; the government is responsible for this situation.
