Iraqiya Coalition leader Ayad Allawi met and held talks with Kurdistan Regional Government President Massud Barzani in Arbil, al-Sharqiya TV reported.
“The two leaders discussed Iraq’s latest developments over the political crisis and various possible solutions,” the report added. Barzani and Allawi view solutions to Iraq’s current crisis resting in the implementation of rooted plans in Iraqi government organs with the objective of establishing stability throughout the country.
The KRG President’s statement following this meeting said Barzani and Allawi also discussed the country’s fragile security conditions with the criminal bombings that target innocent civilians in various provinces across the country.
“We will never live under the shadows of a dictatorship and we will never accept threats against the Kurdistan Region’s achievements,” Barzani said in a speech in Arbil over the disputes between the KRG and Baghdad.
“We are ready to resolve all problems based on the Constitution. However, if anyone thinks they can dictate issues to Kurdistan and undermine its achievements, this is something we will not accept,” Barzani added.
“We know that war is bad, however worse than war is for a human to live under a dictatorship,” Barzani concluded.
