Al Jazeera report sheds more light on Iran’s vast meddling in Iraq

Al Jazeera TV, 4 Nov 2013 – Oday Zeidi, President of the Popular Movement to Save Iraq, shed light on Iran’s vast meddling in Iraq.
“I am talking to you from Ziqar on behalf of the Arab Shiite religion. They may arrest me for what I am about to say, or I may even be killed. Therefore, allow me to talk to you in detail about what is taking place in southern Iraq. I have divided Iran’s occupation to four phases: intellectual change, changing the social structure, economic occupation and security control.

Anchorman: How is this intellectual change, please explain.

Oday Zeidi: There is two methods for this; first through the clerics linked to Iran’s supreme leader. They are people who want to turn southern Iraq to the Shiites supporting Iran’s supreme leader. However, the second method is much more dangerous, involving opening the ‘scientific zones’ (term used for clerical schools of Iran’s mullahs) to the kids in schools. Also, changing the social structure means cleansing or forcing all Sunni tribes into forced migration. This began two years ago and has now grown after the beginning of the Arab Spring.

Anchorman: The issues you are pointing to, how much are the Shiites in southern Iraq in agreement to or oppose, politically and/or the methods used?

Oday Zeidi: There is a large amount of popular opposition to this phenomenon.
