Al Arabiya TV, 4 September 2015 – In Iraq the popular movement demanding reforms continued their rallies on Friday, September 4th. Demonstrations in Baghdad were much more specific in their slogans and their road map was very clear: they were demanding reforms in the judiciary.
From Baghdad to Najaf, Nosseriya and other cities Iraqis rushed to the streets demanding reforms to the status quo. They called for an end to corruption, improvements in social services and officials being held accountable.
Angry protesters have risen against all symbols of corruption, especially the electricity dossier as large portions of this country remain in the dark. The Iraqi people are also fed up of all the electric cables seen in the streets that are threatening the lives of ordinary Iraqis.
Demonstrators are determined to continue their protests and not give in to threats and intimidation.
In this regard protest organizers in the city of Nosseriya in southern Iraq have turned their demonstration into unlimited sit-ins until their demands are met.
