SYRIA, USA TODAY,  September 10, 2016 – Airstrikes killed and wounded dozens in Syria on Saturday hours after the U.S. and Russia reached an agreement on a cease-fire set to begin Monday

The airstrikes killed 24 and wounded dozens of others in an area near the main market in Idlib, the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights told The Associated Press.

Russian warplanes carried out the strikes that were also carried out in other parts of the country including Aleppo, the Local Coordination Committees and the observatory told AP.

State media said insurgents shelled government-held neighborhoods in Aleppo, killing one and wounding others, AP reported.
