The number of casualties in the recent incident of Libyan asylum seekers drowning in the coastline of this country has reached 500. They were trying to reach the coasts of Italy and enter Europe as a result.
This tragic incident is the worst such event regarding ship carrying asylum seekers. At the same time the Italian Navy announced that during the past three days it has saved 2,380 immigrants.
