Italian Coast Guards say rescuers have saved more than 4000 migrants from the Mediterranean over the past 48 hours. On Sunday, an Italian led rescue flotilla recovered 10 bodies from the sea of Libya and rescued hundreds of migrants whose boats have gotten in to problems.
Meanwhile calm weather and sea have seen an escalating number of vessels trying to crossing to Europe.
