Al-Baghdadiya TV, December 6, 2011 – Shiite Muslims around the world held ceremonies in commemoration of Ashura, one of the most important holidays on the religious calendar marking the killing of Imam Hossein, grandson of Islam’s prophet, Mohammad.
Millions of worshippers around the world took part in these vast ceremonies. Karbala governor announced that 3 million Iraqi and foreign pilgrims gathered in Karbala for Ashura.
