220 killed in shelling, raids in Ghouta in January

The Baghdad Post, January 22, 2018 – Some 220 people were killed in repeated shelling and raids by the Syrian army on opposition sites in the Syrian city of Ghouta in January, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said on Monday.

Twenty-one people were killed on Sunday in artillery shelling of Douma city in eastern Ghouta by the Syrian army, the observatory said.

Several people were injured in the shelling, some of them seriously, which means that the death toll could further increase, it added.
