Widespread International Coverage of British Court’s Ruling to Remove PMOI off Terror List

In its third coverage of the British Court’s verdict, the Associated Press said: Britain’s Home Office had fought to keep them on the list.
The decision by the Proscribed Organizations Appeal Commission was an important victory for the group.
The PMOI’s ambition of overthrowing Iran’s theocratic regime has won the praise of U.S. lawmakers worried by allegations that the country is attempting to build a nuclear weapon.

Deutsche Presse-Agentur (DPA) wrote: The British government was bound to remove the PMOI off the black list. The Proscribed Organizations Appeal Commission (POAC), in central London, ruled that, given all the evidence, the decision not to remove the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI) from the proscribed terrorist blacklist under the 2000 Terrorist Act was “perverse”.

Abu Dhabi TV broadcasted a report the British Court’s ruling regarding annulment of the PMOI from the terrorist list and celebration of the Resistance supporters in front of the court.
Abu Dhabi TV said: Finally the British judiciary removed them from the list of terrorist organizations. They were put in the list when Jack Straw was Foreign Secretary.
Brian Binley, MP: The British government’s position is not logical. On one side seeks punishments against Iranian regime, and on the other side, approves the US’ stance regarding inserting the PMOI as a terrorist organizations. This means punishing Iranian regime’s enemy and this is not logical.
Abu Dhabi TV added: The PMOI was the first persons who revealed the Iranian regime’s
nuclear program for British public opinion. They enjoy a strong support of parliamentarians and jurists. They emphasize the legal tack has been fructified.
Lord Robin Corbett: this is a very great victory that sends a clear message to millions of Iranians and to those who want peace, democracy and respect to human rights. It also sends another message to the Iranian regime that it is isolated more than ever.

In its second coverage of the Iranian Resistance’s victory in the British Court, Al-Hurra TV said: The release of the British Judge’s verdict regarding the removal of the PMOI from the world’s terrorist organization’s list was greeted with great jubilation by the members and supporters of the opposing Iranian regime’s PMOI.

The members and supporters of the PMOI, after 7 years of struggle, finally succeeded to remove their organization out of the list of terrorist organizations. About an hour ago, the British court issued a judgment this organization is not a terrorist organization, rather it is a resistance movement and the opposition to the Iranian regime. This move from the aspect of this organization’s presence and activities in UK and Europe and a number of western capitals is considered a significant blow against the Iranian regime.

Hossein Abedini, from the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) said to Al-Hurra: This ruling proves that the PMOI is a legitimate movement and is not a terrorist organization somehow 35 British Parliament Members had shared in realization of this verdict. I believe this is a magnificent victory for justice; this has been a triumph of human values and legitimacy of the Iranian Resistance’s views.

The Iraqi Babeliya TV reported: 7 years after the proscription of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI) in the United Kingdom, today, after extensive scrutiny, the Proscribed Organizations Appeals Commission (POAC) issued a judgment which unequivocally annulled the terrorist label against the PMOI.
Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, one of the leaders of the Organization, described the court’s ruling as a magnificent victory for justice, an acknowledgement of the righteousness of the Iranian Resistance and the PMOI.

The Iraqi Rafidain TV interviewed with Mehdi Oqbaii at the city of Ashraf regarding the British Court’s verdict:
Q : Will you please give more details on this new judgment?
Oqbaii: Seven years after the terrorist designation of the PMOI and being “proscribed” in UK, which was in favor of the mullahs’ regime ruling Iran, a big barrier was removed from the path of Iranian people’s struggle for freedom. This designation by Britain caused the EU to insert the PMOI in it terror list by referring to a quotation made by a minister of the European Council. Also, throughout the appeal session in the European court, the representatives mentioned a government that had lobbied this designation, and that was the British government.
This designation will have positive consequences for our organization. This unjust designation was in favor of the mullahs’ ruling Iran. Therefore, today is a day when many issues are moving in the opposite direction to what the Iranian regime had desired and its allies had prepared for it.

The Jordanian daily Al-Arab al-Yoom entitling ” British Judiciary power terrorist label from the PMOI” , wrote: Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, described the Court’s ruling as a magnificent victory for justice, an acknowledgement of the righteousness of the Iranian Resistance and the PMOI, indicative of the awakened conscience of the international community and a message of firmness by the world community to the religious fascism ruling Iran.
