Why Delisting MEK Is Vital For Peace?

The MEK Is The “Solution” To The Iranian Crisis And Not Part Of The Problem

(OfficialWire), London (England),  25 March 2012
“The only solution to prevent an Iranian nuclear bomb or unprecedented conflict due to the Mullahs’ instigation of crisis is regime change by the Iranian people and the Iranian Resistance”
Maryam Rajavi Paris 24 March 2012
One can only be blind not to see the importance of MEK in the political balance with the Ayatollahs; during the past years a press confrontation waged between pro-Ayatollah pundits and pro-MEK supporters has revealed bitter realities.
The group is claimed to be a “grouplet” by the Mullahs; it is enlisted in the US black list, and yet it has emerged as a main subject by the UN Security Council. The MEK has occupied every public and secret negotiation with Iran and is now growing to be an issue for the next US elections.
There is a famous saying which parables’ historical similarities: “If you don’t like the message, kill the messenger”.
We see a contradictory confrontation of policy in the US administration in this regards.
The central question is: To be with Freedom seekers or the Tyrants?
This is a unique historic challenge facing the US administrating.
On one side there are those who condemn “Prison”, “Tyranny” and enchainment and suppression and hence support those who seek change in Iran while they are punished by malicious press smear campaign.
On the other side we clearly see a minority who still believe in a gutless “handshakes” and “compromise” with Iranian butchers and their pundits while they are accomplice to ongoing executions, butchery and Iranian state terrorism.
Delisting would reinforce the sincerity of President Obama’s promise that America stands with the people of Iran in their struggle to liberate themselves and send a strong message to the Iranian people that America is on their side.

It would signal a resolution for change as promised by the President in his elections: thereby putting the clerical rulers on notice that a new option is now on the table and that America is not limited to an infeasible military option or the failed diplomatic option. The Iranian regime would know that it faces an enabled and determined Opposition; this will shift the attitude of the feeble and multi fractioned regime of Khamenei from an offensive mode to a defensive one.
In the longer term, friends and allies would appreciate that the United States is taking the lead in letting the people of troubled areas take their destiny in their own hands. The likelihood is that this would be followed by other allies and set a green light for future emerging democratic states in the region that US is on their side.
This would act as an amend to all faltered image and dislike the people of the region may have attained for US Administrations on various state propaganda wars.
A delisting likely would improve the ability of the MEK to concentrate on its major objective which would allow the world peace campaign for more intelligence aboutIran’s nuclear program. The outcome would certainly inhibit Tehran’s warmongering efforts to move ahead with its nuclear weapons program and close all military options and allow a choice be made by the people in Iran to resolve their internal problem.
In terms of the Iranian people themselves, enabling the MEK would help to energize the majority who are either undecided “fence-sitters” or heretofore have been uncommitted in the absence of an active policy in favor of regime change. For those who are already trustworthy supporters and active in Iran, it will allow them more security and safety to expand their network and nurture change when the time is ripe.
Allowing the MEK unchained from the FTO list will shifts the financial and organizational responsibility for “taming” the irrational Mullahs in Iran from external entities to the Iranian people themselves. It will allow the people to be in contact with their “freedom fighters” and to play their rightful role in organizing anti-government demonstrations and other political activity which would involve all sectors of society. This would only be possible through a capable and experienced movement, to lead all public potential towards freeing assets and potentials inIran.
The majority of Iranian clerics, who are not associated with the regime, and who are sympathetic to the MEK’s secular Islamic ideas about government, would be encouraged to take a more positive attitude toward the U.S.
The effects of delisting on U.S. and Coalition efforts to bring secure democratic development to Iraq and the region can hardly be overstated. The overcastting effect of the mullahs expansion in the region would be terminated: An Iranian government, IRGC, MOIS and other security services would be forced to scale back their current large scale assistance to terrorist and insurgent forces inside in Iraq and the region. Pro-Iranian groups in the region, such as the Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq (SCIRI) and the Badr Corps, would have to adopt a lower profile , permitting the forces of federalism, integration, moderation and democracy to advance there.
The overall signal would go out that smaller neighboring countries that they do not have to put up with Tehran’s bullying pressures and destabilization operations anymore.
This is an impressive list of potential benefits of removing the MEK from the illegal FTO list and is hardly comprehensive for the length of this article.
It is clear that many of the most important national security and foreign policy objectives of the United States are engaged in the Middle East in general and in Iraq and Iran in particular. It is not often that a single administrative decision can affect so much that is at stake in a region as is the case with delisting the MEK. This is an opportunity the United States cannot afford to miss. The chances for freedom and democracy in Iran as well as U.S. national security are riding on this issue.
This is the key for the Administration to line its election values on genuine American ones originating from the American independence revolution: The God-given right for humans to seek freedom from tyranny and be independent.
The MEK is the Key for peace and security not for Iran and the region but for US national security.
