Washington removes PMOI from terrorist organization list

US Congressman Ted Poe announced on Sunday Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will soon delist the PMOI from the list of terrorist organizations, al-Arab al-Yowm daily reported.
Ted Poe said this decision will be made before October 1st and is related the near complete evacuation of Camp Ashraf that was under the control of the members of this Iranian opposition organization for years.
This representative from Texas welcomed Clinton’s decision to delist the PMOI, adding we were waiting for this for a long time and it is very welcome because the PMOI set aside violence long ago and are actively cooperating with US intelligence agencies in providing information on the Tehran regime.
Dana Rohrabacher from California said he is deeply happy that the State Department has agreed to this delisting, adding members of this organization seek a laic government in Iran.
PMOI spokesman Afshin Alavi said the Iranian people and Resistance suffered much hardship during these 15 years because of this terror label, adding they are awaiting the State Department’s official announcement.
