US’ silence on Ashrafi hostages is ‘malevolent’, former Iraqi MP says

Malaf Website (Saudi Arabia), 25 Sep 2013 – Former Iraqi MP Taha al-Loheibi condemned the recent massacre of Camp Ashraf residents, adding it is not hard for the Iraqi government to hand over to Iran the seven Ashraf residents taken hostage.
“This might be carried out by a militant group associated to the Iraqi government, which enjoys access to equipment and vehicles belonging to security organs,” he said.
“However, what is malevolent and strange is the United States’ silence regarding the violation of the rights of individuals that are considered refugees under international laws,” al-Loheibi added.
“If it weren’t for the US’ silence, Iraqi national security advisor Faleh al-Fayaz could not have specifically talked about the massacre that took place in Camp Ashraf,” he added.
“Under pressure from Iran, the Iraqi government will neither respect international law or Iraqi constitutional law,” he continued, adding, “Many Iraqi politicians in power today believe Iran brought them into power and cannot carry out any policy other than what Iran demands.”
