Hello, I’m Congressman Dana Rohrabacher. I want to send a message to the people in Iran who are struggling against the mullah dictatorship. We are with you. I also want to send a message to those people throughout the world who are allied in support of your efforts in Iran, especially to those people in Camp Ashraf who there, on the edge of Iraq and Iran, who have created a symbol of hope to the people of Iran. Perhaps that’s why the mullah regime is so committed to the destruction of Camp Ashraf. The Iranian mullahs are having a horrible impact in trying to say curry favor with the new leaders, if not control, the new leaders of a democratic Iraq.
Prime Minister Maliki seems to be doing the duty and the business of the mullah regime in Iran and helping them to stay in power rather than furthering the cause of freedom and democracy which is what the system that elected him into power. Pretty soon Prime Minister Maliki will be visiting Washington, D.C. and we are hoping to meet him here with a number of people from throughout the world who will be expressing our opinion that he should not be doing the bidding of a mullah dictatorship but following the interest of a free people in Iraq. First step number one that would be a symbol of this would be to cut himself loose from the controls that the Iranian mullahs are placing on him in dealing with Camp Ashraf.
Camp Ashraf, the deadline for closing Camp Ashraf should be extended. We need to get together to make sure that we oppose this type of gruesome and authoritarian control that the mullahs now have on Iran and support people like the people of Camp Ashraf who are struggling to end that dictatorship.
Thank you and I hope you have a happy holiday season and that next year we make it a better year for the cause of peace and freedom for the people of Iran and yes the people of Camp Ashraf.
