Hello, my name is Bob Filner and I’m a Congressman from San Diego, California and I’m here to express my total solidarity with the people of Camp Ashraf as President Obama prepares to meet with Prime Minister Maliki from Iraq.
So Mr. Obama we say, make sure Mr. Maliki protects the citizens of Ashraf, make sure they are not forcibly dispersed, make sure that the United Nations process proceeds, make sure that we fulfill our commitment when we went into Iraq that we will protect the citizens of Camp Ashraf. This is too important to human rights around the world, this is too important for the citizens of Iran, this is too important for the citizens of the United States. We must fulfill our commitment to those in Ashraf. They are fighting for all of us, they are fighting for human rights and democracy in Iran, they are fighting for human rights and democracy around the world.
