The Iraqi Azzaman daily on 18 Feb 2012 published an article entitled “UN urged not to succumb to pressure against Ashraf” reporting the Iranian Resistance calling on UN Secretary General’s Special Representative to Iraq Martin Kobler to not succumb to the illegal pressures against Ashraf residents. The Resistance movement announced in its statement that instead of focusing on basic protective measures, Kobler should not succumb to pressures against the residents.
Azzaman added: “Mrs. Maryam Rajavi has asked Ashraf residents to have the first group go to Liberty, and the following groups will go there after receiving minimum assurances and the police exiting the Liberty vicinity…”
