INTV, 19 Sep 2013 – Following the fifth massacre of Ashraf residents and the inhumane and abnormal crime on 1 September 2013 in Ashraf, 52 were killed and seven were abducted by Iraqi government security forces.
The United States government and United Nations must assume the responsibility of protection for Liberty, based on their agreements with the residents.
Murdering the wounded execution-style and mass killings of the residents with their hands behind their backs, which have taken place based on evidence at the scene, is considered a group killing, an inhumane and war crime against the residents.
Considering the fact that it is possible for this crime to be repeated at any moment in Liberty, therefore:
While condemning this crime and inhumane massacre in Camp Ashraf, due to the fact that this attack was the fifth attack conducted by Iraqi forces against Ashraf and Liberty residents, and it is possible the next attack be repeated; therefore we call on the UN Security Council to refer Liberty residents’ security dossier from Iraqi forces to UN blue-helmet units to prevent further attacks.
