Al-Arabiya TV, June 24, 2012- Thousands of Iranians gathered in the vicinity of the capital of France calling for fundamental political changes in Iran and support for the National Council of Resistance of Iran. Among the participants were politicians such as former U.S. Senator Robert Torricelli, former Mayor of New York Rudy Giuliani, and Maryam Rajavi, President of the National Council of Resistance of Iran.
Rudy Giuliani, former Mayor of New York: This gathering and the groups here demonstrate what might happen in Iran and we must support change of regime in Iran. Philippe Douste-Blazy: We are here to express our support for the Iranian people and their resistance and we wish an expeditious freedom for them. Maryam Rajavi, that Iranian dissidents welcomed her with their slogans for revolution and change, said that the spring of Iran is still alive and the Iranian people want change and that the current regime ruling Iran has no future. Part of this great gathering had Patrick Kennedy, son of the deceased Senator Edward Kennedy and member of U.S. Congress, as its moderator. In this rally, a great number of political figures gave speeches calling on the UN and the world to support freedom for the Iranian people.
