The Italian daily Metro published its interview with Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance entitled “Rajavi, president of the Iranian regime’s opposition says: Iranian regime is a threat”. Parts of the interview are as follows:
Q: Is Iran producing nuclear bomb?
Mrs. Rajavi: Yes, we have given many reports in this ground to the international organs. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), although with delay, confirmed us.
Q: How long does the Iranian regime want to produce nuclear bomb?
Mrs. Rajavi: It depends, very little, if it stays uninterrupted.
Q: How could the Iranian regime be stopped?
Mrs. Rajavi: We are the third option; an option that can prevent both the threat of a regime armed with nuclear bomb and a war that could harm our people.
Q: What is your suggestion?
Mrs. Rajavi: Support the change inside Iran and by the Iranian people; we believe this is the only path to democracy, free opinion, and respect to minorities’ rights; we are a democratic organization.
Q: What do you think of the negotiations that Europe advance?
Mrs. Rajavi: The dialogue only has given the Iranian regime opportunity and has served it. This is harmful both for Europe and the Iranian people; don’t waste time, otherwise Europe will wake up one day and face with the shock of the Iranian regime equipped with nuclear weapon and threat of possible World War III, a terrible war.
Q: Are moderate elements found in Tehran to be negotiated?
Mrs. Rajavi: No moderate can exist in that regime; thirty years of experience prove that these so-called moderates are used only for increasing longevity of that suppressive regime.
Q: Your family had been facing death; you know what happened to Mrs. Bhutto in Pakistan, what is your feeling?
Mrs. Rajavi: My life and any Resistance member’s is in danger momentarily, but we are ready to pay this price
