The effects and consequences of the murder of prisoner of conscience, martyr Sattar Beheshti, continues to cast its shadows over the situation in Iran, Palestine’s al-Sabah daily wrote. Iran continues its fanatic and unprecedented efforts to erase the effects and dimensions of this issue in order to have it forgotten.
The subject of Sattar Beheshti has become an important and sensitive matter. He was referring to an important issue that the reform of Khatami and the Green movement led by Hossein Mousavi and Mehdi Karrubi are actually acting at the regime’s service.
The clerical regime through its three decade long rule has attempted to emphasize the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran and its way of thought and principles have vanished. The suspicious murder of Sattar Beheshti in prison by the regime’s henchmen, which the regime was forced to admit to under the pressure of public opinion, showed that the way of thought and principles that the PMOI stands for are pure and come from the depth of the Iranian people. If it shows anything, it is the relationship between this organization and the Iranian people because this organization, in its words and through its actions, represents the will of the people.
The issue of Sattar Beheshti took place in this critical stage to show the world the nature and the source of the pure cause the PMOI are struggling for. Therefore, it is not at all possible that the murder of Sattar Beheshti will cloak this cause or bring an end to it. In fact, it will strengthen its flame and make it into an ablaze in every corner of Iran. This is the truth which will soon dawn in Iran.
