In an interview with al-Babelyia TV, Mohammad al-Sheikhli, director of the London-based National Justice Center described the attack on Ashraf by Nouri Maliki’s armed forces as a crime against humanity and war crime, calling for the establishment of an independent and impartial international committee to look into this subject.
“The events in Ashraf were truly a grave crime,” al-Sheikhli said. “The Government of Iraq is completely responsible for this crime because this government itself committed this crime. Despite all this, we have recently obtained documents showing Tehran ordering this plan to the Iraqi government to carry out this crime. This crime was jointly committed by the governments of Iraq and Iran, aimed at conducting a killing spree and massacre to put an end to Ashraf. Until military forces are inside the camp, the possibility of this crime taking place once again remains… To be unprejudiced, we must say that this government itself is the murderer and the same party who has committed this crime. The European Union, United States and the European Parliament are now requesting the persecution of the culprits of this crime, a crime that has been registered and broadcasted for all.”
“We have delivered footages of this crime in Ashraf to the Iraqi Parliament President,” al-Sheikhly added.
