
In the midst of the Syrian people’s brave uprisings against Bashar Assad’s dictatorship, the Iran-Syria Friendship Committee in Defense of Camp Ashraf issued a declaration signed by 1,000 Arabs dignitaries in Syria. This committee consists of 10 associations and various figures of the Syrian resistance.

In its statement, this committee condemned the Iraqi government’s violent attacks against Ashraf at the behest of the Iranian regime. On the other hand, this committee welcomed the European initiative in finding a peaceful and lasting solution for Ashraf under the supervision of the European Union, the United States and the UN, and especially the positive efforts of EU foreign policy chief Baroness Catherine Ashton in this regard.
